RowX LLC ("RowX," "we," "us," or "our") operates the RowX adaptive rowing training application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use our Service.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: name, email address, username, and password
- Athletic profile: date of birth, height, weight, biological sex, maximum heart rate, primary boat class, erg performance times, water performance times, training days per week, race dates, and season goals
- Training data: session logs including duration, split times, heart rate, stroke rate, perceived effort ratings, and session notes
- Physical metrics: body composition goals, injury history, lifting experience, and equipment access
- Payment information: processed by Stripe; RowX does not store full credit card numbers
- Communications: messages sent to your coach, agent conversations, and support requests
- Profile information: display name, avatar, club affiliation, and username
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, browser type, and IP address
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, and in-app actions
- Push notification tokens: stored when you enable notifications on your device
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication and session management
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Stripe: payment processing status and subscription information
- Supabase: database and authentication infrastructure provider
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate and adapt your personalized training plan based on your athletic profile and logged performance data
- Provide AI-powered coaching responses through the RowX agent
- Recalibrate your performance targets as your fitness changes
- Calculate blended targets for crew boat sessions with connected athletes
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send training reminders, performance notifications, and product updates
- Respond to your support requests and coach communications
- Improve the accuracy and quality of our training algorithms
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
3. Health and Fitness Data
The Service collects health-adjacent data including heart rate, body weight, body composition goals, injury history, and physical performance metrics. This information is used solely to provide and improve the training service.
RowX is not a healthcare provider and the Service does not constitute medical advice. We treat your health-adjacent data with heightened care and do not share it with third parties except as required to operate the Service.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party service providers:
- Supabase: database hosting and authentication
- Anthropic: AI infrastructure for the coaching agent
- Stripe: payment processing
- Resend: transactional email delivery
- Vercel: application hosting and deployment
4.2 Connected Athletes
If you establish a connection with another RowX athlete and participate in a crew boat session, limited athletic profile data (your performance pace reference) is used to calculate blended boat targets. This data is not displayed directly to other athletes.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RowX, our users, or others.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Training logs may be retained in anonymized, aggregated form for research purposes after account deletion.
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Correction
Update your information anytime through Profile settings.
6.2 Data Deletion
Request deletion by emailing mckinley@row-x.com or using account deletion in the app. Processed within 30 days.
6.3 Data Portability
Request a copy of your data by contacting mckinley@row-x.com.
6.4 Push Notifications
Disable anytime through device settings or app notification settings.
6.5 California Residents (CCPA)

6.6 European Residents (GDPR)

7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure database infrastructure, and access controls. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact mckinley@row-x.com if you believe we have collected information from a minor.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy in the app and sending an email at least 14 days before changes take effect.
